Washington was the first president of the United States, he was a great mind with many principals and many great achievements. A few years into his presidency he wanted to reduce the debt so he imposed a tax on all distilled spirits and since whiskey was the most popular, people referred to it as the “whiskey tax”. People weren’t really happy with the new taxes so they decided to have a huge rebellion. being the calm man he was he showed the people that he has the power to suppress these rebellions and with that he ended the whiskey rebellion in a fast and efficient manner. Being first was also something he is greatly, recognized for being the first at, war, peace, dancing, design, and at being president. In fact that’s why many people respected him because of how many talents he sowed off and because of his principals.
