Thomas Jefferson, the master manipulator, down to earth and secretive president. Jefferson player a very important role, he was the reason for the biggest land deal in the history of land deals. So what happened was the France needed money for the war, and they decide to put Louisianan up for sale, now Jefferson got word of the offer and decide to buy the land.There was a big philosophical issue for Jefferson, he was Anti federalist and in order to purchase Louisiana he had to use Alexander Hamilton’s financial system which proposed a National bank. Jefferson has always been against that idea, but the only way he could make the Louisiana purchase was to make a national bank. He had to put his principals aside and act fast because if not it could’ve lead to war with Spain.
